Karas is a performative group formed by Leonardo Boldrin and Serena
Borgatello in 2005.
Leonardo Boldrin was born in Mestre-Venice in 1980, Serena Borgatello
was born in Mestre-Venice in 1983. They both live and study in
Mestre-Venice (Italy), and they work together since the year 2000.
Karas studies the interaction of music and video using digital live
medias.
Before forming the group Karas, Serena & Leonardo had a group with
Alessandro Ragazzo, and they participated as “group Luther Blisset” to the 12°
edition of the BJCEM, in Naples in 2005, with the video “Sub_Liminal”,
and to the event “Action in Media” in Rome in 2006.
In 2006, Karas participated to the “Notte Bianca” in Mestre, with the
live performance “Cellular Glitch”; to the Biennale of Architecture of
Venice with the performance “Antimateria”, performed in Venice-Giudecca
at the CZ95 Cultural Centre and to the “ArteFiera” in Padua.
In 2007, Karas participated to the 52° edition of the International
Biennale of Art of Venice with the performance “Antimateria” and to the
event “Changing Time-Tempo Mutevole” in Venice.
Both Leonardo and Serena paint using traditional and modern artistic
technique, such as the using of airbrush and acrylic and vinylic
materials.
